Here’s your chance to train and develop to become a qualified Artisan, according to the requirements of Chemical Industries Education and Training Authorities (CHIETA), which will include 4-6 months at the Skills Academy and 6-8 months at the designated plant. You’ll pick up the core skills and applicable safety standards related to the specific trade in the maintenance and operation of Sasol plants. It will be expected of you to regularly attend classes and to wear full PPE, as provided by the Skills Academy.

Qualifications and expertise should include: • A Grade 12 with Maths HG/SG (does NOT include Maths Literacy, Additional Maths, Functional Maths, Commercial Maths, Applied Maths) and Physical Science HG/SG (does NOT include Life Sciences, Science Literacy, Functional Science, Natural Science and General Science) with English passed OR an N3 Certificate with Maths, Engineering Science, Business English and any 2 subjects passed (total of 5 subjects) • Good communication skills • Team and independent working skills. Previous relevant experience would be an advantage.

Note that correspondence will be done through a cell phone SMS system. SMS the word SASOL to 33808 between 3 and 20 September 2012. Successful applications require 15 to 18 SMS’ to complete. You will then be asked questions which you will need to answer. Each SMS costs R1.50.
