Jhpiego ICT Director

ICT Director will provide organizational leadership and guidance for the strategic integration of Information and Communication Technology within Jhpiego's health systems strengthening programs, primarily in the areas of provider education, training and performance support.

Responsibilities:
  • In coordination with the CIO, define the strategy for and manage the development and implementation of health system strengthening ICT interventions in limited-resource environments
  • Oversee the design, development and implementation, and collaborate on the monitoring and evaluation, of Jhpiego’s activities that support and complement health system strengthening work via the creative application of ICT
  • Collaborate with the New Program Development team and provide technical input into and review of proposals, concept notes, expressions of interest and other business development-related materials
  • Represent the ICT4D interests of Information Services and Technology Support (ISTS) internally and work closely with all members of Jhpiego to ensure ICT4D alignment with the organization’s strategies and planned initiatives
  • Keep all staff appropriately informed of all ICT initiatives, including attending team meetings, updating staff as needed, and collaborating with program and support staff to integrate ICT into all Jhpiego operations as appropriate
  • Cultivate Jhpiego’s relationships with external organizations and coordinate across technical, programmatic and business development requirements
  • Work closely with clients, partners and the Jhpiego Technical Leadership Office (TLO) and Global Programs Office (GPO) to identify opportunities to improve health systems and meet other programmatic challenges through the appropriate application of ICT
  • Interact effectively with TLO and GPO to tailor technological development to ensure appropriate and relevant design, implementation and evaluation
  • Represent Jhpiego and its ICT initiatives at public forums including conferences, meetings, and media and award events
  • Provide assistance and guidance to support Jhpiego’s internal information technology infrastructure

Required Qualifications:
  • Passion for the mission of Jhpiego and to broader global issues of public health and international development
  • MPH or degree in ICT related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in ICT4D
  • 3+ years’ experience managing ICT technical assistance for international health systems strengthening and capacity building programs
  • Experience managing software development or implementation teams, familiarity with software development methodologies and understanding of hardware and network architecture
  • Ability to identify and incorporate or adapt best and promising evidence-based practices
  • Excellent communication and cross-cultural skills for working with international staff, management and Leadership Team members and for establishing and sustaining professional relationships with donors and partner organizations
  • Superb writing skills and the ability to assemble, distill, and analyze information for decision-making
  • Ability to present technical information coherently to lay audiences
  • Sound judgment and the ability to prioritize, multitask and work under pressure independently, without supervision
  • Availability to travel domestically and internationally
