PR Volunteer : Central London

SALARY: Unpaid, reasonable travel & lunch expenses paid
CONTRACT: 3 days per week (Days worked negotiable), minimum 3 months
LOCATION: Central London
CLOSING DATE: Thursday 4th October 2012
If you want a career in PR, but are finding it difficult to get your foot in the door, here’s the answer. We’re offering you the opportunity to gain great hands-on experience of PR work across online, broadcast and print media.
You’ll draft press releases, put together media hit lists for specific projects, conduct research and send requests for support to celebrities. To make sure you get the most out of this experience, you’ll also be invited to all relevant meetings and given fortnightly one-to-one feedback.

So, what skills do you need to be invited for an interview? Firstly, knowledge of PR and the media, and an understanding of celebrity culture. Secondly, because you’ll be dealing with a wide range of people as our representative, we must be able to rely on you to express yourself both carefully and confidentially in both speech and writing.
You’ll also need strong administrative and PC skills – particularly in Excel and Word. Having a good understanding of social media and the ability to juggle many different tasks will also be an attribute as no two days will be the same. Much of the time you’ll work independently (with great supervision of course!), but you’ll be involved in teamwork too, so you will need to be good at both.

That we expect you to support our aim of building a fair and just world where everyone can claim their rights goes without saying.

Meet our criteria and you can look forward to a fantastic experience that will be thoroughly rewarding and standout on your CV.
