Economic Adviser

DFID Zambia is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated economic adviser to join our team in Lusaka. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring that sound economic analysis informs all DFID Zambia policies and programmes to maximise value for money. The EA will manage DFID Zambia’s General Budget Support programme and will lead work supporting tax administration and Economic Advocacy.
This appointment is for a permanent and pensionable Home Civil Service vacancy and a 6 month probationary period applies. The first appointment is to DFID Zambia for 3 years and is available from September 2013. The salary range for Economic Adviser posts begins at £50,949, plus overseas allowances.
Candidates must have a Master's or Doctoral degree in Economics, and substantial experience in developing countries, including in Africa, working as an economic adviser on a wide range of policies and programmes.
