Senior Structural Engineer

We have an immediate opening for an Intermediate/Senior Structural Engineer in our Terrace, BC office – an extremely busy location with an abundance of opportunity within the local booming industry. Required Skills
• Providing experienced and skilled engineering and management of heavy civil structures such as bridges, overpasses, and industrial buildings
• Managing technical staff participating on projects; providing guidance to junior engineers and technical staff
• Perform feasibility studies as part of business case development for proposed capital projects
• Analyze markets to capitalize on project opportunities and develop new business
• Providing assistance to the Branch Manager as required for planning, sales and marketing
• Liaise with key clients, agency representatives and strategic partners
• Understand, commit to and fulfill responsibilities under the McElhanney Quality Management System, ISO 9001 and all client quality, safety and environmental management systems
Required Experience
• Degree in Civil Engineering with 6-10 years progressive experience in project management and structural design
• Registration in good standing as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia, or eligibility to be registered
• Experience in the consulting industry would be an asset
• Supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership and motivational skills
• High productivity, attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work well in a team environment are essential
