OXFAM PURPOSE: To work with others to overcome poverty and suffering
 
TEAM PURPOSE: To initiate, develop and build ambitious and effective relationships with Trusts and Foundations, Corporates and Major Donors to secure significant funding for Oxfam's work.
 
JOB PURPOSE: To initiate, develop and build ambitious and effective relationships with Trusts & Foundations, Institutions, High Value supporters and corporate partners in Scotland to raise funds for Oxfam's work in Scotland and internationally
 
REPORTING LINES: Postholder reports to: Scottish Fundraising Manager Staff reporting to this post: None
 
BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for meeting agreed income targets and reconciling income and expenditures incurred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with Major Donors, Trusts, Corporates and Institutions through a tailored supporter programme in order to grow their support and commitment to Oxfam
  • Proactively prospect for new Major Donors, Trusts, Corporates and institutions:
    • identifying and researching potential new supporters
    • writing and presenting proposals to match supporter interests
  • Represent Oxfam externally
  • Undertake cross team initiatives and account management supporting links between Trusts, Major Donors and Corporate Partnerships
  • Record financial and personal contact to Data Protection Act standards with a high level of accuracy
  • Maximise PR, branding and fundraising opportunities associated with other interests of major donors, trusts and institutions.
  • Work closely with other teams in Scotland to secure relationships and income for Oxfam

OTHER:
This role requires someone with confidence and initiative to realise and pursue opportunities, and to proactively make the case for Oxfam's support, and to lead initiatives that will increase Oxfam's fundraising base.
 
The key focus of the post is to raise funds from trusts, major donors, corporates and institutions in Scotland, it will also involve a degree of cross-unit working to support the aims of Oxfam fundraising as a whole.
 
Unsocial hours and some UK travel are features of this post.
Occasional travel outside the UK may be required.
