Executive Director Oxlajuj B'atz' Panajachel, Solola, Guatemala

Reports to: Board of Directors, In-Country

Principle Function: Oversees all operations in support of the vision and mission of the organization. Represents the organization to the public, and facilitates team development of the strategic plan for reaching the mission.

Key Responsibilities:
• Hires and supervises head staff, e.g., Development Manager, Field Supervisor, Store Manager, and Administrative Assistant. Conduct staff evaluations
• Responsible for financial management and annual planning of the organization
• Communicates with and represents the organization to potential donors, other NGOs, the business community, and other important relationships globally
• Oversees the marketing for the social enterprise
• Formulates and clarifies the direction and strategy for the organization by facilitating and organizing the strategic planning process
• Creates annual organizational budget and individual project budgets
• Creates necessary reports for donors, partners, and Boards
• Develops policies as needed to streamline operations

Skills Needed:
• Must be fluent in both written and spoken English and Spanish
• Passionate about the mission, vision, and goals of the organization
• Experience with budgeting, fundraising, and long and short term planning essential
• Knowledge of marketing plans, techniques, and assessments
• Understanding of small business principles and how they play into social enterprises is vital at this point in the organization’s development
• Experience with organizational and program development. Candidate will have worked in a non-profit environment and, preferably in a for-profit setting as well
• Experience managing a staff. Good communication skills, listens to others, but is not afraid to make executive decisions and communicate what is needed
• Preferably has worked in a developing country, particularly with women’s projects and community development
• Knowledge of non-formal educational methodologies is important
• Ability to work with a diverse staff in an ever-evolving environment
• University level of education required
