Global Production Planner Roots & Bulbs


Principal Accountabilities
This position is responsible for the definition of the net production amount needed based on the evaluation of forecast and inventory over time. A key focus is the timely harvest and delivery of planned productions to meet global demand requirements, including country of origin and phytosanitary requirements. Duties also include regular analysis of forecasts and crop in ground that would trigger new productions or cancellation of production for commercial hybrids and/or parental inbreds and working closely with Regional Crop Team to understand lifecycle status of all varieties.
 
This position will require focus in the following areas:  
Master Production Planning
· Consolidate and evaluate global sales forecasts of commercial hybrids and/or stock seed inbreds
·  Prepare production plan (net requirements on volume, country of exclusion and timing) for Commercial and Parental lines (Stock seed)
·  Provide continual updates on supply, demand and inventory to Product Management/Marketing/Sales, Breeding, and Technology Development
·   Evaluate and determine optimal Safety Stock levels for all varieties that will maximize opportunity for additional sales while effectively managing working capital
·   Ensure crop production is placed in areas that meet sales demand Phytosanitary eligibility requirements
·   Analyze global sales forecast to propose harvest priorities while working with Global Supply Scheduler and Global Crop Placement Specialist
·   Active Participant on Regional/Market crop team
·   Monitor data integrity and update finance, marketing and product management on Crop Lock Forecast, Budget Analysis/reporting , and Long Range Planning
·    Work closely with Crop Team to understand timing and volumes to ensure adequate capacity, parental inventory and productions are completed in time for Phase 4 product launch.  Regular, comprehensive analysis/communication on supply and Provide numerous ad hoc analysis of production volumes, inventory levels, quality levels, usability and recommend actions /improvements.

 Reports to Global Crop Lead

Qualifications

 
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Planning, Agriculture, Business, or related area, MBA preferred.
 
3 or more years supply chain, logistics, planning, or seed business experience required
 
Excellent analytical skills
 
Proficient  in Microsoft Office Suite and strong computer skills
 
SAP knowledge highly desired
 
Ability to work effectively in a global, team-based and matrix environment
 
Advanced Foresight skills, which includes but is not limited to, ability to anticipate unforeseen changes and develops contingency plans
 
Views and considers issues from the point of view of all impacted stakeholders
 
Reacts quickly to unexpected changes within forecasts and supply situation or other market changes, and proposes solutions
 
Proactively monitors needs and wishes of stakeholders and proposes improvements
 
Fully communicates the impact of the changes across teams
