Policy and Programme Advisor – Conflict Transformation and Fragile States Contract: 2 years Fixed Term Ref: PPA-CTFS/HROD-SPP/0912 Salary: Salary depending on experience (+London Weighting if based in London) Base Location: International Office, Birmingham with the option to work in London

IRW is currently seeking a Policy and Programmes Advisor – Conflict Transformation and Fragile States to work within the Strategy, Policy & Process (SPP) team with responsibility to co-ordinator and manage the development of IRW’s conflict transformation and peace building work. The job holder will lead our research and policy work on issues relevant to conflict-affected and fragile states and influence government and institutional strategy on aid policy.

S(H)e must possess excellent knowledge and experience in relation to conflict transformation and fragile states and an understanding of conflict transformation together with a significant track record of policy and programme development and research. The successful candidate should also have highly developed written and interpersonal skills and experience in high-level representation (lobbying, presentations) to different external audiences. A post graduate degree and work experience in CTPB programming would be a substantial advantage.
