News Start-up Hiring Editorial Interns

News start-up, founded by a seasoned foreign correspondent, seeks to hire editorial interns interested in foreign news. Led by journalists and technologists, the website will be exploring new ways to tell the Syria story, adding context to content. It is an effort to innovate storytelling, building a platform that combines the best of journalism with the most advanced digital tools of the day.

Curator/Editorial Internship:

The editorial internship is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing news venture. The intern/curator will assist the Managing Editor and have substantial responsibility involved in all aspects of the editorial process – editing, proofreading, research, fact-checking, and production work.

Qualifications

· Undergraduate or graduate student with a coursework in journalism/and or international relations; interest in the Middle East preferable.

· Interest in Middle East; Arabic language skills, particularly reading skills, a plus.

· Strong research and writing skills.

Candidates should be prepared to volunteer at least 16-21 hours, per week.
