Senior Reservoir Engineer - Tyra - Maersk Oil, Copenhagen, Denmark

The position is for a reservoir engineer with a broad background in both operations and reservoir studies, including dynamic simulation. The incumbent will be the main reservoir engineer for Denmark’s largest gas field: Tyra. This complex, offshore chalk field has been on production for 26 years with over 100 wells, many of which are long horizontals. It contained 4 Tcf of free gas, underlain by a thin active oil rim of some 500 MMstb and a large palaeo-oil zone. Development of its flanks continues with a field development study approaching final investment decision. The incumbent will be involved in the implementation of this new platform and 15+ wells, as well as the definition of Tyra’s long-term reservoir management strategy. Strong interaction with the facilities groups is required to optimally use the available capacity for Tyra and all its satellite fields, and to forecast platform subsidence resulting from reservoir compaction. Responsibilities will also include providing reservoir engineering input to well interventions and production optimization, and reserves reporting.
