Social Protection Expert Consultant for UNICEF CEE/CIS Regions

UNICEF, the world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, seeks a Social Protection Expert Consultant to support UNICEF regional work on social protection for children in Central and Eastern Europe and Commonwealth of Independent States (CEE/CIS)

Qualification:
• Five to eight years relevant work experience at national and international levels
• Advanced degree in economics/public policy with specialization or experience in social policy, analysis of social protection systems, labour economics, development studies, public finance or other relevant field
• In depth knowledge of social protection literature and policy debates
• Excellent written English language skills, demonstrable with samples of publications
• Academic research and/or communication experience
• Ability to organize and plan own work, and work according to deadlines
Desirable:
• Knowledge and experience of research on socio-economic issues in CEECIS countries
• Good knowledge of STATA and/or SPSS statistical packages
• Familiarity with international norms and standards for children including the Convention on the Rights of the Child
• Familiarity with the work of the United Nations
