University College Falmouth Professor of Sustainable Design

Salary negotiable (not less than £54,283)

This is a unique opportunity for an outstanding individual to build the research excellence that will define Falmouth as a world-class, specialist arts university.

You will lead the delivery of these research ambitions through the Academy for Innovation & Research (AIR), a new £9m centre which opened in May 2012 whose explicit focus is applied research in the areas of the Digital Economy and Sustainable Design. Current project partners include BT, NHS Innovations, the Department of Energy & Climate Change and a wide range of SMEs, focusing on questions around digital manufacturing, superfast broadband applications, networked communities, telemedicine, pervasive media and ecodesign.

With an impressive research record in the specified field, each candidate will be an experienced and entrepreneurial leader with the ability to harness the energy and potential in Cornwall to establish a research agenda of international distinction.
