A Lecturer in Petroleum Engineering with expertise in at least two of the following fields: Formation Evaluation / Drilling Engineering / Well Logging / Petroleum Refinery Operations is required. We seek a specialist to deliver teaching, support the management of the BEng (Hons) Petroleum Engineering course and contribute towards MSc course development.   

You will be joining a forward looking, research and industry focused School with a strong international reputation in research and knowledge transfer activities.

Candidates are expected to demonstrate academic and professional petroleum sector expertise that will contribute to the further development of the BEng/MSc programme and support teaching, research and extension within the wider fields of petroleum and engineering sciences.

The duties for these posts include teaching at undergraduate level, with anticipated extension into postgraduate work in due course, supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate projects, laboratory work, research and scholarly activities and associated administrative duties.   

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to research activities within the existing strong research culture as well as supporting the research-lead knowledge transfer agenda within the School aligned to short and long term objectives.   

Candidates should possess a first degree in Mechanical and/or Petroleum Engineering, a PhD or significant and evidenced industrial experience and a track record of achievement in the petroleum sector.
