Road/Traffic Engineer (ITS Specialist)
Experience Required
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in Highways and/or Traffic Engineering with particular emphasis on ITS architecture/application/devices in major highway projects.
Skills
- Graduate qualification in Civil/Electrical engineering.
- General grounding in Roads/Traffic Engineering.
- Be a chartered engineer with professional registration at a recognized institution.
- Have demonstrated technical competence in the design and documentation of traffic control related ITS in major highway projects - such as traffic signals, roadside communications, Fog detection systems, CCTV and VMS.
- Particular knowledge of US and European ITS standards.
- Have demonstrated self-management and communication skills.
Responsibilities
The ITS specialist shall be responsible to the Discipline Leader and Senior Road Designer for delivery of technical outputs in accordance with the project requirements.
- Liaison with Discipline Leaders, Client Technical Team and other consultants as part of the design management task.
- Coordination of all ITS design review tasks.
- Coordination with Ashghal's ITS team and their consultants and integration with their emerging strategy for ITS in Qatar.
- Assist in the development of baseline set of standards for ITS application in road design.
- Review of consultant designs for compliance.
