Green Growth Economists

The Global Green Growth Institute is now hiring Green Growth Economists to join  growing organisation.

GGGI is dedicated to helping governments and industry pioneers to explore a new model of economic growth: green growth. Economics, and in particular the economics of resource productivity and development, is at the core of GGGI’s approach. While GGGI adopts a set of multi-disciplinary methodologies, economic tools are crucial to assess the suitability of green growth policy and investment in achieving the economic and development objectives of partner countries.

Green growth economists will support the Green Growth Planning and Implementation (GGP&I) department in activities globally. You will work closely with different teams around the world and your key responsibilities will include:
• Ensuring the that the country teams’ approach is based on solid economic foundation
• Adoption of best practice across economic tools and methodologies used
• Communicating economic analysis and results transparently with government partners
• Facilitate sharing of skills, tools, datasets across teams and with local partners

Reporting to the Chief Economist, you will support both GGP&I and the Research team.

Key competencies include:
• Advanced degree in economics
• Track record in applying economics within the  context of developing countries
• Proven ability to deliver high quality outputs on time and to budget
• Strong propensity for complex problem solving with a focus on natural resource and development economics
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong drive to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve organizational goals
• Written and verbal fluency in English
