RESPONSIBILITIES
  • As a Junior Distribution Operator - Field you are responsible for assisting in the installation, inspection and servicing of natural gas utility systems that transport natural gas upstream of the meter set.  Gas utility systems include gas distribution systems under various levels of pressure, gas mains and services, pressure controllers and regulators, and gas meter and measuring.
  • This is a training position which will progress to the position of Distribution Operator – Field, with various duties assumed gradually, following successful completion of the required training and courses and demonstrating the required skills, abilities and competencies on the job to perform the job duties.  The successful candidate must possess a strong commitment to personal and job safety. 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Grade 12 Diploma
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License (Class 1 or 3 would be an asset)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, decision making, strong work ethic
  • Able to maintain and promote good working relationships and excellent customer service
  • Previous equipment operating experience would be an asset
  • Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude and dexterity in the use of tools and equipment
  • Normal good health for this type of work
