Senior Electrical Engineer

McElhanney is seeking a senior-level professional Electrical Engineer. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for delivery of both capital and maintenance projects that achieve cost and production goals while maintaining world class quality, safety and environmental performance.

Required Skills

• Manage projects on behalf of, and as part of, the client project team
• Provide support, technical back-up and engineering input to plant maintenance and engineering departments on issues concerning maintenance and reliability engineering
• Assist plant management team and supervisors to resolve reliability problems requiring professional judgement and engineering training
• Perform engineering project assignments as required to upgrade plant facilities, reduce costs and support safe, environmentally sound operations
• Perform feasibility studies as part of business case development for proposed capital projects
• Hire, supervise and coordinate other consultants, contractors and vendors on contract work and projects
• Understand, commit to and fulfill responsibilities under the McElhanney Quality Management System, ISO 9001 and all client quality, safety and environmental management systems
• Provide mentorship and leadership to junior staff

Required Experience

• Registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada, USA or other jurisdiction.
• 10 Years in a related field (Mining, Smelting, Oil & Gas, Pulp & Paper, etc.)
• Sound understanding of maintenance & reliability engineering principles
• Project management experience in an industrial environment
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Due to site entrance requirements, you will be required to undergo pre-employment and ongoing site access drug and alcohol testing.
