Special Project Scientist - Agronomy

The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) based at ICRISAT Head Quarters, is seeking applications from Indian nationals, who are results-oriented, highly motivated, and qualified candidates for the position of Special Project Scientist (Agronomy). The selected candidate will be a member of a IRRI team at ICRISAT and will assist in implementation and management of nutrient and agronomic experiments. 
About IRRI:
International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), is a nonprofit scientific research organization, one of the 15 International Institutes under the consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), with its Head Quarters at Los, Banõs, Philippines. IRRI is engaged in different aspects of rice research and has its offices in sixteen countries including India.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Implementation and management of nutrient management and agronomic field experiments.
  • Research  management, analyses and processing.
  • Integration of soil and other agricultural maps into databases.
  • Perform all other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Nutrient Management.
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in soil science, agronomy, natural resource management or closely related fields
  • Two year experience in implementing and managing field trials as well as in the management, analyzing and processing of geo-referenced soil and experimental data
  • Knowledge in Geographical Information Systems, Remote Sensing as well as modeling would be considered a valuable asset
  • Ability to work in a team with scientists from different disciplines
Compensation:

The position is initially up to September 30, 2015, and renewable further based on performance and funding availability. An attractive, all-inclusive lump sum, consolidated compensation will be offered to the right candidate.
