UNDP Crisis prevention and recovery experts

UNDP works with national partners in 177 countries and territories to empower people, improve their quality of life, and build resilient nations.  Building resilience to conflicts and disasters is at the very heart of UNDP's work. UNDP helps countries to prevent armed conflict and alleviate the risk and effects of natural disasters.
When a crisis does strike, UNDP helps countries to recover and build back better, ensuring that recovery goes hand in hand with the humanitarian response.
To this end, UNDP maintains the Experts Roster for Rapid Response (ExpRes), a roster of pre-selected and technically vetted consultants who can be deployed rapidly to countries in support of immediate crisis response and recovery efforts.
To expand this roster, UNDP is currently seeking experts in ten areas: Crisis Governance (including civil society, political transitions, constitutional processes, electoral violence prevention, parliamentary support, political party support, state building, core governance functions, and local governance); Conflict Prevention and Recovery (including peace building, national cohesion, conflict analysis and political transitions); the Rule of Law (including access to justice, policing, citizen security, armed violence, transitional justice, security sector development, sexual and gender based violence); Livelihoods and Economic Recovery (including economic transition, emergency employment, community infrastructure, enterprise recovery, debris management and livelihoods recovery); Disaster Risk Management and Recovery (including climate risk management, urban disaster risk management, post disaster needs assessment, and governance/gender/capacity development for disaster risk management); Mine ActionCommunity Security and Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration; Gender and Crisis; and Monitoring and Evaluation.
Candidates must have a minimum of seven years’ experience in their respective fields and must be willing to be deployed to crisis settings, at very short notice.
