Competitiveness and Innovation Division Chief

Established in 1959, the Inter-American Development Bank ("IDB" or "Bank") is the main source of multilateral financing for economic, social, and institutional development in Latin America and the Caribbean.  It provides loans, grants, guarantees, policy advice and technical assistance to the public and private sectors of its borrowing member countries.
The IDB is currently looking for outstanding professionals who will be instrumental in our success supporting efforts by Latin America and the Caribbean countries to reduce poverty and inequality, fostering development in a sustainable, climate-friendly way from the following managerial and advisory position:
Under the IFD sector, the Competitiveness and Innovation Division (CTI) division is responsible for the Bank’s intervention in the area of private firms competitiveness, technology and innovation. The Division Chief will be responsible for leading the preparation and implementation of the Bank’s strategy and action plan in this domain.
Candidates should be nationals of member state of the Bank, hold a Master's degree or equivalent education in economics, political science, public policy, business administration or areas/disciplines relevant to the Bank’s operations. Ph.D. preferred. A minimum of six to twelve years of work experience, ideally at an international level and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish are required. Division Chiefs will have proven management record in similar positions, including supervision of technically strong multidisciplinary teams.
