Position Description:
Reports to:Executive Director
Duty Station:Morogoro
Duration of contract:2 years renewable on the basis of performance
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop an overall farmers'training programme of
MVIWATA
Coordinate implementation of the said MVIWATA Training programme.
Undertake on periodic basis needs assessment of farmers to reflect the training programme
Coordinate preparation and regular revision of training materials to be used in the training programme
Organize on regular and consistent manner residential training courses to MVIWATA members and other farmers
Manage data base of trainees
Share with the knowledge management personnel and other key stakeholders key lessons and best practices for documentation.
Organize monitoring and periodic evaluation of the training programme in collaboration with the M&E
Officer
Prepare periodic progress reports as per institutional requirements
Required Qualifications
University Degree in Agricultural Education and Extension, Rural development, Community Development from a recognized university;
A Masters Degree will be an added advantage
Field experience of at least three (3) years in farmers' training institutions (such as MATI and FDCs)
Essential competencies for all positions
Ability to work in team and complement one another
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and complete tasks on deadlines
Excellent communication and facilitation skills
Excellent fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili
Excellent writing skills (reports, articles, & publications)
Essential qualities for applicants
These should be considered as senior positions and adequate experience is a must. Candidates without the required experience need not apply farmers and adapting to the MVIWATA organizational philosophy,
all times to act in a professional and courteous manner to maintain a positive image of MVIWA'TA
Good organizational skills, ability to work in a diverse team and independently (With minimum supervision)
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Ability to make timely decisions and communicate effectively
Excellent fluency in English and Kiswahili both in writing and speaking is a must
Strong writing skills (reports, articles & publications) is a must
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a rural setting is a must
Result oriented approach and thinking
