The Legal Counsel role is a commercial position providing a range of legal activities required to support a sales and marketing office. This will include the review, negotiation and drafting of sales and distribution agreements, public sector transactions and commercial activities. In addition to supporting sales, the role will focus on copyright matters and interaction with industry associations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • provide first line legal support to Apple‘s business in the D/A/CH region,
  • provide support to the Legal Senior Counsel and contribute to the work of the European Legal Group,
  • focus particularly on legal matters related to commercial law, contract law, consumer law, e-commerce law, copyright law, advertising legislation, consumer law, data privacy, trade practices, finance related matters,
  • monitor and report to management on legal and regulatory developments at national and EU level affecting Apple’s business in Europe,
  • support in drafting and further implementation and follow up of Apple sales agreements and related commercial distribution documents,
  • review, advise and draft correspondence, contracts, licenses and other documentation as required by regional business or submitted to Apple by third parties,
  • liaise with, instruct and manage the work of Apple‘s external legal advisors in the region and if necessary at EU level,
  • interaction with industry associations and Apple’s Government Affairs department on lobby topics.
Education
REQUIRED SKILLS / JOB EXPERIENCE
  • fully qualified German lawyer with strong academic credentials
  • 2-3 years of experience in the legal department of an international company good business judgment and problem solving skills
  • flexible and able to multi-task
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work independently and in groups strong negotiation skills
LANGUAGES
fluent in English, good knowledge of any other European second language is preferable
