Job Summary

​Cardno ENTRIX is seeking a Hydrologic Operations Modeler to work with a multidisciplinary team of accomplished biologists, planners, hydrologists, geologists, and engineers on a variety of projects in the Central Valley and California.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
 
  • Model development (including hydrology, reservoir and water resources operations models)
  • Analyses
  • Technical report writing (hydrology reports, etc.)
  • Presentations with clients and stakeholders
  • Technical support to various projects
  • Field work / data collection​

Other Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in civil and environmental engineering, hydrology, hydraulic engineering, environmental sciences, or mathematics and/or similar discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience (can be a combination of professional and education experience)
  • Extensive hydrology/operations modeling experience.
  • Strong proficiency in river and reservoir hydrology/operations models (e.g., CalSim II, Hec-ResSim, OASIS, RiverWare) and/or similar models
  • Programming capability
  • Strong quantitative skills and rigorous modeling skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel to field sites and other Cardno ENTRIX office locations
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's or PhD degree in civil and environmental engineering, hydrology, hydraulic engineering, environmental sciences, or mathematics and/or similar discipline
  • 3 years of professional experience (with hydrology models) preferred
  • General knowledge of Northern California watersheds and the California Bay-Delta
  • General knowledge of anadromous species / water resources / water quality
  • Ability to work well independently and with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, team oriented work environment
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative
  • Positive, flexible, team-oriented approach
  • Strong time management and follow-through, with the ability to simultaneously work on multiple tasks/projects and meet project deadlines
  • Strong problem-solution orientation, detail oriented and resourceful
  • Positive and energetic attitude
  • Bilingual capabilities (Spanish) is a plus
