KPMG (Senior) Advisor Data Governance & (Master) Data Management


A Data Governance & (M)DM specialist has the ability establish visibility, trust and confidence in companies' data through leveraging processes, technologies and resources.
 
In order to cope with the expansion of the department, we are currently looking for a "(senior) advisor data governance / master data management" to strengthen our enthusiastic team.
At our clients, you will be involved in short- or long-term data governance, (master) data management, data quality and data architecture related engagements where you will assist them in achieve their business goals, using data-driven evaluation and improvement methodologies and tools.
Since master data management, data governance and - quality is more than a functional or technological exercise, you will work closely together with an enthusiastic team of both business and technical specialists from our data analytics core team as well as with professionals from our ERP Advisory, Enterprise Architecture, Risk & Compliance, Program & Project Management practices.
Key activities will include:
  • Understand and evaluate business processes, enabling to successfully translate business needs into data requirements
  • Define structures, policies, processes and metrics to improve and maintain the quality and ownership of data (including data owners, stewards and administrators)
  • Assess, design and implement internal control frameworks around master data management, data governance and data quality within complex system landscapes
  • Assist in the evaluation of data architectures and data flow diagrams, including processing and control points, transformation points and reconciliations
  • Support information, data classification and data cleansing exercises 
  • Assist in designing flexible and pragmatic data architectures that can adequately support the overall enterprise architecture and business needs 
  • Provide support in product development, proposals and further research

Requirements
To be a successful (senior) advisor data governance / (master) data management, you need specific functional, technical and personal skills to develop yourself further in these skill areas:
  • You have a master degree in commercial science, (applied) computer science or economics        
  • You have acquired 3 to 5 years of experience in a data governance, architecture, quality,  assurance, modeling or related role, preferably within a consultancy organization
  • You are passionate about data and data quality and understand how it can contribute to an effective business     
  • You apply an holistic approach to (master) data management, encompassing governance, processes, quality principles, technological solutions and a change in culture, supporting the realization of business objectives      
  • You combine good business understanding with high technological capabilities
  • You are result-oriented with expert problem solving and analytical skills
  • You have good communication skills, both written and spoken and you are an excellent team player
  • You are flexible to work within a fast-paced startup environment
