The Institute for the Environment and Regional Development/Prof. Sigrid Stagl is currently inviting applications for a 100% (40 hours/week) Project Staff Member position, (post doc employee pursuant to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement for university staff (Angestellte/r gemäß Kollektivvertrag für die Arbeitnehmer/innen der Universitäten); gross monthly salary: € 3.381,70. Duration: December 2012 toNovember 2015.
Responsibilities:Research including the generation of scenarios of possible economic futures on the basis of feedback mechanisms between macroeconomic policies and environmental constraints and policies, integration of resource and biophysical variables into macroeconomic simulation and optimisation models, the examination of barriers to and opportunities for a socio-ecological transition; participation in the organisation of EU FP7 project www4europe (http://www.foreurope.eu/).
Required skills and qualifications:
  • Doctorate in economics or related field or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in macroeconomic modelling.
  • Working language is English; candidates need to proof their ability to communicate proficiently in English.
We expect candidates to demonstrate their willingness to work in an interdisciplinary mode.

Desirable skills and qualifications:Experience with agent-based modelling and multicriteria methods
