Senior Economic Governance Advisor Sibley International

International Development Group LLC (formerly Sibley International) seeks a Senior Economic Governance Advisor for the USAID Mexico Competiveness Project.  The purpose of this contract is to build upon existing competitiveness-related projects, including the current Mexico Competitiveness Project and the project entitled, “Enhancement of the Business and Legal Environment and Trade Capacity through Legal Reform and Improvements in the Administration of Justice by Commercial Courts in Mexico”.  Together with the on-going USAID projects addressing justice sector reform, citizen security, and climate change in Mexico, and efforts to increase the number of local partners through Global Development Alliance and direct grant programs, the new competitiveness project will contribute to achieving US Mission goals in Mexico.  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience within government, academia, or a think tank and/or as part of a cooperation project in fields related to the subject matter of this project, such as economic competitiveness, financial sector inclusion, competition policy development, and/or good governance. 
• Expert knowledge of Mexico’s business enabling environment and policies, laws, and institutions that are relevant to competitiveness. 
• Experience analyzing, designing, advocating for, implementing, and/or otherwise supporting competitiveness-related legal, policy, and regulatory reform and/or institutional capacity building. 
• Proven ability to develop and communicate a common vision among diverse partners, including the private sector, public sector, and civil society, and the ability to coordinate activities that contribute to a common policy or institution-building goal.   
• Master’s degree in relevant field of study (economics, political science, public administration, sociology, anthropology, business).
• Fluency in spoken and written English (minimum 4/4) and Spanish (minimum 4/4) required.
