The Synergy Organization has been retained by a highly respected and internationally recognized Hospital to conduct the nationwide search for a Director of Biomedical Engineering. The Director of Biomedical Engineering will direct and guide all operations of the Biomedical Engineering Department, and be responsible for hospital-wide clinical capital equipment planning, budgeting, and acquisition. Additional responsibilities for the Director of Biomedical Engineering include: 1) The planning, evaluation, analysis, review and approval of purchases and technical design proposals related to clinical equipment acquisitions, repairs and maintenance; 2) The provision of guidance and consultation to senior administration and medical staff regarding technology assessment, utilization, and acquisition; and, 3) Ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines, standards and requirements, applicable laws and regulations along with the philosophy, policies, procedures and standards as established by the hospital.

The successful candidate will: bring a passion for and expert knowledge of Biomedical Engineering; have outstanding communication skills; be a dynamic leader; and, serve as an expert resource for the hospital. Requirements include: five to ten years progressive experience in Biomedical Engineering in a large academic medical center; a Bachelors degree plus two years of formal job-related course work (Masters Degree preferred); thorough knowledge of accreditation requirements of The Joint Commission; and, strong management skills.
