Department

Large parts of daily Online, Radio and Television news services have come together to form the Multimedia Newsroom. The key objectives of this department are to share creative content across outlets and work efficiently across the various platforms of Online, Radio and Television news.

Role

You'll work as part of the Support Team in the Multimedia Newsroom under the direction of the Scheduling Manager World TV and the Newsroom Co-ordinator.  You'll also provide a secretarial and administrative support function to World TV senior editors and managers as well as assisting the Scheduling Manager with the processing and administration of time sheets and the up keep of annual leave records for the department.  You'll be expected to liaise with the Newsroom Co-ordinator in the requests for ID cards and technical facilities for new joiners and also assist them in managing any newsroom office space including planning and implementing office moves which will include liaising with facilities, IT and telephony as required.

Requirements

Combining strong organisational skills and excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools, especially Word and Excel, you'll have the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure and have excellent attention to detail.  As a good communicator, you'll have excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues and have the ability to handle confidential information appropriately. You'll have a keen interest in the output of BBC News as well as some understanding of the Global News Division and its different outlets.
