To support the Head of Marketing in developing and implementing the brand and marketing strategy across the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. This will involve collaboration across all areas of M&A and communications including Nations and ER. There will also be significant liaison at a pan-BBC level and with external partners especially the Glasgow CG Organising Committee.
The role is based in Salford, with travel to Glasgow which will increase closer to the time of the Games.
You will support the Head of Marketing to develop CG marketing and branding strategy in context of overall BBC Brand Strategy and within 2014 overall strategy as well as reviewing M&A marketing delivery against brand guidelines to ensure creative consistency. You will also work with Audience Research to analyse and evaluate audience insight, and use this to provide recommendations on Commonwealth Games marketing activity. This includes undertaking post-campaign evaluations to assess how campaigns how performed vs. their objectives. You’ll also establish effective working relationships with key editorial and content providers and to ensure marketing disciplines play a role in shaping content / product development
You must have substantial experience of managing and developing major brands in a complex business or broadcast environment and a full understanding of brand strategy, brand lifecycle management, marketing techniques, and knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research techniques. You’ll also require demonstrable experience of influencing and managing a wide range of stakeholders in a complex organisation, coupled with a track record of developing innovative marketing campaigns across all media
