Zonal Water Engineer , Tanzania

Position Description:

Reports to: Technical Manager-Water and Sewerage
Zonal Water Engineer will be responsible for carrying out the monitoring of performance of the regulated sector (Water utilities) under the direction of Technical Manager.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
To coordinate the process of overseeing effective and efficient application of provisions of the Water Supply and Sanitation Act in order to ensure technical aspects of electricity sector are in conformity with provision of the Act and good industry practices;
To coordinate, collate, analyze and store information for regulatory reporting purpose in periodic basis;
To lead in carrying out technical analyses of conditions of water and sewerage infrastructures and their utilization efficiency;
To initiate and lead inspection of water supply and sanitation services;
To lead and provide technical inputs towards resolving disputes between regulated service providers and consumers;
To review reports submitted by Water Utilities;
Carry out any additional duties as may be assigned from time to time by the superiors
Academic Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate for this position should have the following qualifications and experience:
Possession of Bachelor Degree in Water and Sanitation Engineering from a recognized University
Knowledge and Competence in Information and Communications Technology (lCT) applications; and
Possession of at least three (3) years working experience in relevant field.
