Asian Development Bank Director General


JOB PURPOSE
Lead the planning, implementation and supervision of the department’s vision, goals, strategies and work plan in support of overall ADB goals and ensure that the efficiency, relevance and impact of ADB operations in the region is maximized. Oversee the quality of work, ensure the achievement of objectives of the department and continuously keep Senior Management informed of emerging developments, opportunities and challenges. Lead external and internal relations, coordination and consultation initiatives, and knowledge management activities for the department. Anticipate departmental resource requirements and efficiently allocate budget and resources. Manage a range of long term issues of strategic importance and with long term implications for the direction and performance of ADB.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
  • Supervisor: Management Vice President
  • The following staff positions may be supervised by the incumbent:
    • Administrative Staff
    • National Staff
    • International Staff
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Master's Degree, or equivalent; or University degree and at least 10 years ADB work experience
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level
  • At least 15 years of relevant professional experience in various sectors, country programming,
  • Macroeconomic analysis, project processing and administration
  • Superior management and leadership qualities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • International experience working in several countries
