We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, self-motivated, and service-orientated professional for the position of Training Coordinator in the Corporate Services Program.

The position will be based at CIMMYT’s Main Campus (located 45 km northeast of Mexico City, Mexico).

Specific responsibilities of this position will include:

  • Coordinate, manage and facilitate the development of all training courses (including accommodation arrangements) for all CIMMYT’s students, visiting scientists and trainees as per CIMMYT’s Training Strategy.
  • Provide all logistics-related support to students, visiting scientists and trainees in all their needs throughout their stay in CIMMYT, including but not limited to:
    • All aspects related to travel, accommodation, arrivals, IT equipment, issue of certificates, and other issues required to ensure adequate facilitation of training;
    • All support related to the request and process of VS and DS visas;
    • Entry of details into Visiting Scientists databases.
  • Provide excellent customer service to training participants as per their needs and requirements.
  • Coordinate (plan, implement, monitor and evaluate) all training workshops and other training events both in HQ and in Experimental Stations.
  • Prepare expenditure estimates and follow up on budget assigned to training programs, ensuring a detailed expenditure report is kept for each training event.
  • Ensure that the information in all training-related databases is complete, accurate and easy to interpret.
  • Prepare summary reports of all events and keep close contact with projects and regional offices in order to maintain accurate training statistics.
  • Keep close communication with all participants to training events before their arrival to CIMMYT and throughout their stay.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

We are seeking candidates with the following qualification, skills and attitudes:

  • BS/BA in Education, Administration, IT or related areas, with at least 3 years of experience in areas related to training for groups of adults.
  • Demonstrated experience operating events and their logistics, including preparation of training proposals and budget estimates. Experience with both corporate and individual customers will be an advantage.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office. Knowledge of a Content Management System or ERP will be an advantage.
  • Good level of attention to detail, responsibility, problem-solving approach, honesty, client-orientation and personable, diplomatic approach to deal with people at all levels.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to work with different nationalities, under pressure and as a member of diverse work team.
