Emergency Response Experts
We
help to respond to major disasters and emergencies around the world.
Our Emergency Response Experts help when emergency response
organisations rapidly scale up their operations in order to help those
in desperate need.
Working in disaster-affected regions presents special challenges for
all MzN | International Emergency Response Experts. The working
conditions are rarely optimal, the local infrastructure often severely
disrupted, information may be scarce and personal comfort limited.
All MzN | International Emergency Response
Experts need to travel to remote areas on short notice. They face the
challenge of having to quickly collect and analyse available information
about the nature and effects of the disaster as well as familiarising
themselves with the specific instruction of their assignment and their
client.
On location, they must quickly assemble their working environment and accept and deal with new circumstances as they develop.
MzN | International Emergency Response Finance
Experts help clients save, manage, track and raise funds in the
disaster-affected region.
The specific objectives of each assignment
depend on the nature of the disasters and the clients existing
infrastructure as well as their specific mission. However, key
objectives of any assignment are:
-
Take the lead of the local financial management and/or grant management function in the context of rapidly deployed funds
-
Safeguard and rapidly develop existing financial management
infrastructure to ensure compliance with all internal and donor guidance
and regulations.
-
Deal with the insufficient infrastructure and lack of personal comfort in a constructive manner (a sense of humour helps).
-
Proactively communicate with local staff as well as the clients HQ.
-
Foresee and plan for capacity increases as the disaster assistance develops
Emergency Response assignments are usually
short-term assignments, normally lasting from a few weeks to up to three
months. However, it is not uncommon though for Emergency Response
assignments to become longer interim management assignments.
