We are currently seeking to recruit a Global Partnerships Team Intern.
 About the Role
 
This 12 week internship is needed in order to support the Global Partnerships Team (GPT), which supports the development of strategic, innovative global partnerships that drive the vision of ‘One Plan’ and that serve the organizational goals of improving programme quality, scale and implementation. ‘One Plan’ is Plan’s ambition to be a more effective, efficient and collaborative organization whose individual parts are all striving towards ‘One Goal’.

Dimensions of Internship:
  • In order for the GPT to achieve the goal of supporting the development of strategic, innovative global partnerships and to develop a long term Global Partnerships Strategy, it is vital that the team is up to date on trends in the Corporate Responsibility and informed of the activities of our major competitors in this area. The role of this internship is therefore to create two papers –
  1. Current trends in global Corporate Responsibility
  2. Competitor analysis on INGO Private Sector Engagement Strategies  
  3. There will be some verbal and written liaison with GPT colleagues and INGOs as well as other relevant external stakeholders such as CR think tanks and forums
  4. This internship has no budget responsibility
Typical Responsibilities - Key End Results:
Research and analysis:
  • With the guidance of the GPT Coordinator, carry out an analysis of current trends in Corporate Responsibility (CR) gathering information through desktop research, appropriate publications and UK based events if relevant. Produce a paper summarising the outcomes of this research.  
  • Through desktop research and verbal meetings (introduced through the GPT) gather information on the Private Sector Engagement Strategies of Plan’s main competitors in order to inform the GPT Strategy. Present the outcomes of this research in a report paper.  
  • Provide general administration support to the GPT as required.
Communications and Working Relationships:
  • Limited contact with Plan employees, mainly the GPT at Plan’s International Headquarters.
  • Contact with Corporate Partnership Directors at INGOs, Forums and think thanks acting as a liaison for information.
Knowledge, Skills, Behaviours, and Experience Required to Achieve Role’s Objectives: 
  • Basic understanding of international development and Corporate Responsibility.
  • Basic knowledge of office/admin procedures.
  • Intermediate analytical, research, communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Basic administration skills.
  • Very organized, motivated and ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Fluent English.
  • Persuasive and persistent.
  • Ambassador for Plan when connecting with INGOs
  • Genuine interest in area of Corporate Responsibility
  • Some academic or professional experience in Corporate Responsibility/sustainable business would be preferred, but not essential.
  • Research/analysis experience.
  • Report writing experience. 
Physical Environment and Demands:
Typical office environment, based at the International Headquarters, Woking, UK
Other:
  • Twelve weeks, flexible working days/hours.
  • Flexible start date.
  • Expenses covered include £6 lunch and reasonable travel expenses.
