Project Enterprise United States Fundraising Officer


Project Enterprise is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to support and develop entrepreneurs and small businesses in under-resourced communities in New York City. By providing microloans, business development services and networking opportunities, Project Enterprise helps entrepreneurs increase their standard of living, create jobs for their communities, and build financial assets.
About the Job: 
Project Enterprise is seeking a Fundraising Officer who will be responsible for coordinating development reporting and managing several events for the organization. In partnership with the Executive Director, this position will develop and manage a schedule of fundraising and marketing activities to raise funds for and awareness of Project Enterprise. This position is based in Bronx, New York, requires a three-day work week and some evening/weekend hours.
Tasks and Responsibilities: 
  • Development: (65%)
    • Write letters of inquiry and proposals, and prepare budgets for institutional funders;
    • Manage development and impact reporting for a portfolio of grants including government and foundation awards;
    • Ensure accurate data collection to complete these reports and coordination with finance department for necessary materials;
    • Oversee stewardship of all individual donors through timely thank-you letters, regular communication and special events/offers throughout the year;
    • Research and identify new individual and institutional prospects;
    • Maintain database of PE supporters and their contributions;
    • Support the executive director by arranging meetings with key foundation, corporate, and government executives;
    • Maintain excellent relationships with all funders.
  • Events management: (25%)
    • Manage and execute 4-8 events throughout the year for supporters and PE members;
    • Coordinate with external event planners, event committees, staff and volunteers as needed;
    • Source guest speakers, venues and other resources for events;
    • Ensure accurate accounting and tracking of outcomes related to all events.
  • Marketing/communications: (15%)
    • Liaison with development and communications committees and volunteer  group, providing support and resources as needed;
    • Create and distribute media alerts and releases;
    • Maintain PE’s online presence on Facebook and other social media;
    • Supports the Executive Director on public appearances and presentations.
Qualifications: 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including expertise in proposal writing;
  • Superior project management, organizational, and prioritization skills;
  • Self-starter, entrepreneurial, goal-oriented, able to handle multiple tasks, and work collaboratively;
  • Background in preparing budgets;
  • Bachelors Degree and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
