Quality Assurance Manager at Phillips & Temro Industries


Under the direction of the VP/GM or designate, the Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the quality system and the quality of the products manufactured or sourced for our customers. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following duties:

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1. Develop and maintain customer quality requirements documentation, as appropriate, and disseminate this information to assure compliance with stated requirements. Provide on-site support as required.

2. Ensure that quality systems and procedures are maintained and effectively used by all associates. Support and direct TS16949 efforts. Manage continuous improvement programs.

3. Provide manufacturing process oversight to assure product compliance and seek process improvement opportunities. Lead quality initiatives and provide leadership for the quality system in manufacturing. Provide quality leadership for any issues that may have an impact on product quality.

4. Provide supplier review, improvement actions, development and control as needed to assure product compliance and provide for vendor development opportunities.

5. Oversee quality problem investigations and lead the implementation of corrective and/or preventative action when the product or process does not conform to stated requirements. Lead the implementation of preventative action based upon the regular review of quality assurance data to reduce variation and waste.

6. Collect, analyze, and report internal/external quality data. Provide recommendations for improvement projects and activities as related to product quality, manufacturing, and/or business processes. Report on quality to be published monthly; trending to occur quarterly and present to quality team and management for review.

7. Administer warranty and identify opportunities and action plans to provide feedback for product and process improvements.

8. Provide employee training and development plans for quality assurance staff. Prepare and deliver training and coaching of production staff.

9. Ownership of the PTI Quality Manual including the content of the manual and the deployment of the policies. Establish product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance procedures.

10. Lead and support supplier development requirements. Provides ongoing support of supplier’s quality, cost and delivery objectives.

11. Manage and participate in the change control processes with the supply base, with timely and cost effective implementation.

12. Conduct process and product audits on a scheduled routine to provide ongoing quality assurance.

13. Represent Phillips & Temro in customer related communication on quality status, including corrective action responses, customer visits, quality presentations, PPAP status, customer certification and satisfaction surveys and follow-up on open issues.

14. Establish quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management, engineers, technicians, and production operators.

15. Develop and maintain in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods; devising testing methods, and establishing proper procedures.

16. Prepare product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

17. Communicate QA values, strategies, plans and objectives, to team members and throughout the organization.

Office and plant environment
Up to 50% travel


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
Four-year Engineering Degree with minimum of 5 years Quality experience

Experience:
3 – 5 years experience in a management/supervisory position.
5 - 7 years quality experience in a manufacturing environment.

Professional designation through ASQ or another accredited education institution is a plus.

7 years of quality experience in an automotive component manufacturing environment is a plus.
