Full Time:
The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £32,375 - £39,132 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
The UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, linked to Moorfields Eye Hospital (MEH), is one of the foremost and most influential eye and vision research institutes in the world, enjoying an outstanding reputation for excellence in furthering understanding of the eye and visual system and its related disorders and diseases.
The role is to provide efficient, effective and highly professional administrative support to the Institute Director including management of the Director’s incoming and outgoing mail, telephone calls and all other communication (paper and electronic), drafting correspondence, diary management, minute taking, general office administration and organising travel, meetings and events. Additionally, the postholder will take responsibility for the press and PR work of the Institute and maintain its website.
The post is to provide maternity cover for 12 months and the appointee must be available to start immediately.
Educated to A level or equivalent, or having substantial directly relevant experience, the successful candidate will have EA/PA experience at a senior level, involving organisation of the workload and diary of a busy senior professional. The successful candidate will have experience of organising events, meetings and international travel arrangements.   Experience of website maintenance is essential as are good keyboard skills, internet proficiency and in-depth knowledge of MS Outlook, Word and Excel. Essential skills include numeracy, excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent organisation skills. Candidates should be self-motivated with a flexible approach to work, have the ability to meet deadlines and manage concurrent tasks with proven ability to assess priorities and plan their workload.
