University College London -UCL Biochemical Engineering

Part Time: 18.25 hours per week (50% FTE)
The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £36,064 - £39,132 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
The overall purpose of the post is to be responsible for the teaching of a existing courses in engineering fundamentals and whole process studies. The role will involve planning and delivery of the teaching material, setting and marking of coursework and provision of feedback, managing tutorials, laboratory practical and pilot plant project sessions and monitoring of students’ performance.
This post is funded for 1 year in the first instance.
The post holder will teach students at different levels: undergraduate, postgraduate students on taught and research degrees, post-experience delegates as part of our offering of MBI courses. He/She will use existing teaching resources that support course delivery, for example, case studies and problem-based learning scenarios, and will be responsible for assessment and feedback. All aspects of the role will involve networking and liaison with postgraduate students, academic staff members in the Department as well as with members of the Administrative and Research Facility Teams.
The Department seeks to employ fellows at Teaching Fellow level, ideally with both Engineering and Educational experience. Knowledge of or experience in biotechnology is required. Industrial experience or experience of level 3 (A-level) teaching would be valuable.
