Project Engineer - Preservation

Thiess Industrial Projects are currently seeking a Project Engineer - Preservations to work on the QCLNG Upstream Works Project. This role will be bus in bus out from Brisbane, working a 14/7 Roster with camp style accommodation and meals provided whilst working on site. You will be hired as staff for the life of the Project. The role will include but not limited to:
  • Provide engineering expertise to the construction and preservations teams in support of project deliverables within the specified timeframe, quality expectations and budget 
  • Support project construction activity by working closely with the procurement team to ensure that all materials and equipment packages meet the technical specifications of the project and are expedited in alignment with project timelines 
  • Ensure that all construction is completed in accordance with the Project Quality Management Plan
  • Identify Quality Risk areas and assist in determining and implementing level of quality control
  • Ensure all activities are compliant with standards set by the client, the community and the regulatory framework
  • Directly influence the safety culture of "Beyond Zero Harm" through the promotion of safe work practices to all project personnel
To be considered for this position, you must have:
  • Teritiary Engineering Qualifications (preferably Mechanical)
  • Experience in a maintenance related industry such as Oil and Gas, Petro Chemical or Pulp and Paper
  • Experience with rotating machinery and process piping is preferred
  • Demonstrated capability with project controls, planning, cost project progress monitoring and reporting
  • Proven application and understanding of risk management systems and processes
  • Knowledge of key performance drivers on construction projects
