Job Purpose

The Aircraft Engineering Program Manager is responsible to deliver key functions which are required to ensure that Etihad’s aircraft operation fulfills Continuous Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO) requirements (Part M) and is optimized under safety, reliability and costs aspects.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities shall include but not limited to following ATA, 21, 26, 27, 28, 29, 31, and 32:

  • Ensure, apply and continuously develop Etihad Modification Policy in compliance with Company strategy.
  • Ensure high level OEM-SB and-Modifications assessment in the scope of safety enhancement, significant reliability improvement, cost- and maintenance reduction and ensuring Return–On–Investment as per company policy.
  • Drive Etihad and subcontractors Modification Review Committee in such way that respective Mandatory SB and Mod are accomplished on time
  • Monitor and supervise contracted sub-part M functions.
  • Review Aircraft Systems, components and material selection with vendors and provide recommendation from in-service issues to capture all improvements and ensure a quality, reliable, repairable and maintainable product is delivered to Etihad.
  • Proactively track and analyze Aircraft operation in close cooperation with OEMs and sub-contractors to identify shortcomings and risks at early stage. Ensure and lead deployment of rectifying actions/ measures in timely manner.
  • Manage upgrade and retrofit projects as directed by Sr. Manager Engineering. Ensure, supervise and monitor upgrade and retrofit programs. Coordinate, track and regularly follow-up actions and progress.
  • Ensure for each project a robust project schedule is in place and strictly complied with, in order to achieve target dates and high quality.
Requirements

Tertiary qualifications that meet the eligibility requirements for membership as a charted engineer (e.g. Bachelor degree in the field of Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic engineering) and 5 years job-related experience OR 10 years job-related experience in the field of Aircraft Maintenance with Commercial Aviation or Airline Engineering is generally preferred. Strong Aircraft systems background, in Etihad Airways fleet, and adequate project management skills are required. Experience in a multi-cultural working environment is preferred.

Training & Knowledge:

  • Formal training in systems engineering, project management and/or aircraft specific type courses is preferred.
  • Permanent education to secure up-to-date understanding of current and anticipation of future legislation needs as well as basics of financial airline management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and social competence, team player; self-starter; strong communications skills, creative and innovative to always be one step ahead; decisive and firm, but fair in agreeing targets; analytical and modeling intelligence and strategic thinking; business intelligence and applications management; strong negotiation and presentation skills
