Information Technology/ Monitoring & Evaluation Officer Tanzania Red Cross Society

The Information Technology and Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will provide guidance on the overall M&E implementation of the blood safety program as well as providing support on IT related activities. Will lead the design and implementation of the monitoring plan, track program outcomes as related to TRCS/CDC Funding Opportunity for increasing the supply of safe blood for transfusion in the Republic of Tanzania and Zanzibar

Ensures availability of monitoring tools at HQ and regional level for blood safety data collection

Compile analyze and submits to program manager on timely manner as per program requirement. Ensure proper documentation, storage and safety of relevant data for program use.

This position is based in Dar es Salaam with extensive travel in regions in Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar.
Reports to: Program Manager
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop TRCS data base for blood donation activities to mirror NBTS data base – Blood establishment Computer System (BECS) and ensure regular updating of relevant information.
Develop blood donor monitoring tools for regional use
Timely compilation/ analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required by TRCS, CDC and NBTS and provide relevant feedback to regions and relevant stakeholders
To ensure well functioning of IT equipment at HQ and regional level.
Responsible for capacity building to HQ and regional teams on data management, collection, compilation, analysis and use/dissemination,
Collaborates with program manager and PI to prepare abstracts and presentations for national and international meetings/conferences
Focal for preparation of TRCS/CDC annual plan.
Collaborate with marketing Officer to design blood donation calendar.
Safeguard relevant statistics and documentations related to TRCS blood safety program.
Work closely with TRCS communication Officer to establish regional blood safety network
Knowledge
Minimum university degree or Advance diploma in Information Technology or any bachelors degree with Monitoring and evaluation or Statistics
Advanced level computer training is a strong component of this job
Experience
2 years working experience in the related field.
