General InformationDongbei University of Finance & Economics was founded in 1952 and is one of leading universities in China in finance, economics, management and tourism areas. 
Global Institute of Management & Economics is an institution dedicated to providing excellent education service at undergraduate and postgraduate levels for international as well as Chinese students. It boasts dynamic multicultural teaching team with staff, from the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Germany, etc. who come from diverse academic and industry backgrounds. 
As an expanding academic university, we are currently seeking candidate to fill 1 Assistant Professor Position in Psychology to begin spring 2013. Candidates should have a strong record of applied work and/or research and university level teaching or consultation experience. The candidate should have relevant academic knowledge and attainment in at least one of the following areas: Psychological Intervention, Treatment and Psychoanalysis. 
ResponsibilitiesOur ideal candidate will have proven university teaching and research skills, along with relevant professional experience: 
  • to contribute significantly to teaching and consultation both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • to operate the Students Counselling Centre for the international students and Chinese students
  • to design and improve the current related courses in Psychology
  • to support colleagues and participate in school's administrative work as appropriate
  • to undertake any such other duties within the scope of the post as may be requested by the director 
Qualifications 
  • PhD in Psychology or related field at the time of appointment
  • Positive Psychology or Psychological Consultation as the research area would be preferred
  • Ability to deliver lectures and accept the counselling in English and Chinese (preferred)
  • Proven experience and capability to deliver high quality teaching and research output
  • Professional experience in relevant fields would be an advantage 
Remuneration Package 
  • Salary offered will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience which will be in the first class among Chinese Universities

  • Relocation assistance: flight and luggage allowance, one week temporary accommodation near the campus, and support in finding long-term accommodation if required
