Position Summary

Futures Group has an opening for a Business Analyst within the Commercial Management Group. The person in this position will be responsible for assisting in the development of annual work plans and pipeline budgets, reviewing budgets and financial reports for accuracy, and other ad hoc financial requests as needed. Using strong interpersonal and communication skills and additional analytical skills, the incumbent will develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and clients with a strong focus on customer service.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general program assistance to project technical staff and administrators.
  • Assembles budget/financial information for new, existing, and ending contracts.
  • Analyzes posted cost and revenue to actuals posted. 
  • Assists in the preparation and review of budget realignments, narrations, justifications and value for money analysis.
  • Ensures compliance with government contracting regulations.
  • Performs the initial job setup function and on-going project maintenance with the project team to ensure Value for Money tracking objectives can be met.
  • Assisting project teams with Value for Money tracking and reporting by developing tools consistent with corporate accounting systems while ensuring appropriate margins.
  • Works collaboratively with technical staff on project forecasting.
  • Works with the project team to develop partner invoices to be able to track partner budgets and reporting requirements.
  • Researches salary rates, equipment costs, office costs etc. for corporate financial management tools.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Degree in financial management, business administration, accounting, economics, international affairs, or related field.
  •  2-5 years of experience working with donor-funded budgets, preferably DFID.
  • Advanced ability working with Excel spreadsheets.
  • Experience with SAGE’s Accpac application desirable.
  • Familiarity with UK government contracting rules and regulations preferred.
  • Familiarity with other Donors including USAID, AUSAID, EC, WB desirable.
