Country Director, WWF-Vietnam

WWF-Greater Mekong is seeking to recruit a well-qualified and experienced candidate for the position of Country Director, WWF-Vietnam.

The Country Director provides vision, leadership, management, and effective high-level national representation for WWF in Vietnam and is accountable for the Greater Mekong Strategic Plan delivery in Vietnam Country Office. He/she is accountable for all activities of the WWF-Vietnam Country Programme related to conservation, fundraising, policy advocacy, finance management, human resources management, and communications activities. This position has legal representation of WWF in Vietnam and advocates on behalf of WWF-Greater Mekong in Vietnam to build institutional relationships and promote cooperative programme activities with national partners. He/she manages the program with annual budget around 3 million USD with more than 60 national staff.

Key requirements are: 

• Master’s degree or higher in business administration, business management or related fields
• 7 years of experience in the leadership and management of anorganisation, 3 years of which should be in the Greater MekongRegion (preferably in Vietnam), with demonstrated success inmanaging multi-cultural teams
• Thorough understanding of Vietnam geography, society, culture,socio-economic, conservation and development issues, the politicalsituation and the country’s relationship and significance in the widerregion
• Knowledge   of   the   realities   of   development   partners, donorinstitutions, government agencies and the not-for-profit sector in theregion
• Excellent people management and capacity building/development skills
• Policy advocacy, influencing and negotiation skills with  an appreciation  of  the  demands of conflicting interests and of meetingstatutory requirements
• Problem solving, management of crisis, conflict and risk, monitoring and evaluation skills.
