Fundraising Director Reliable Cancer Therapies

A pioneering new international cancer research charity, Reliable Cancer Therapies, is seeking its first Fundraising Director to shape and lead the charity's fundraising programme, working closely with the Founder, Luc Verelst, and Executive Director, Dr Lydie Meheus.
RCT was founded in 2009 to improve the survival chances of cancer patients and substantially enhance quality of life through
1) selective funding of promising unfunded therapies and
2) provision of research-based information on existing therapies. RCT has invested significant funds of its own into twelve research projects with a proven scientific evidence-base which would otherwise not have been funded. This innovative approach is already showing success and RCT is ambitious for what can be achieved in the future.
RCT is looking for a senior level Director of Fundraising to join its small and entrepreneurial team and to take full responsibility for all aspects of fundraising. The successful candidate will be a persuasive communicator with the ability to create and build effective partnerships with major individual and institutional donors. Previous fundraising experience, particularly of medical fundraising, is desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will be highly motivated to succeed, with a strong and sustained record of income generation and of managing multiple projects.
Based near Brussels, the post will involve work across Europe and internationally. The successful candidate must be fluent in English and ideally highly proficient in at least one other major European language. A competitive salary is on offer, to attract the best.
A full job description and application form can be downloaded here or by emailinginfo@reliablecancertherapies.com. The deadline for applications is 5pm Central European Time on Monday 17 December 2012 and interviews will take place in mid-January 2013.
