Job Purpose
Lead complex economic research projects to support or enhance NCCI's actuarial and economic products and services. Communicate results to internal and/or external customers. Share expertise with junior staff.
Major Duties:
Lead complex economic research projects, such as cost driver research, internal rate of return analyses for rate filings, and economic publications. This includes developing and managing project plans, coordinating the work of others, determining appropriate methodologies and approach, analyzing complex information, assessing the reasonability of results and drawing conclusions, presenting and defending results to internal and external audiences, interaction with other divisions, preparing presentations and publications, and completing documentation.
Lead an economic focus area by prioritizing projects, obtaining staffing, delegating tasks, and delivering results. Includes managing benchstrength, ensuring that assigned resources adhere to quality standards, process and methodology improvements, and all administrative responsibilities for the focus area.
Provide constructive and actionable feedback regarding the performance of project team members to the individuals and their managers.
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
  • A Doctoral degree in Economics, or closely related field and five years experience conducting research and managing major projects. Candidates may qualify with a Masters' degree in Economics and ten years business economist experience.
