Save the Children Economics Advisor


This role will join the Impact, Innovation and Evidence (IIE) team, in the Programme Policy and Quality (PPQ) Department. It’s a high profile team with plans to double in size, in an organisation that understands the value Impact and Evidence brings.
The team is the central place to leverage knowledge, innovation and best practice, through rigorous monitoring and evaluation and operations research, supporting the continued development and delivery of cost-effective, equitable, accountable and quality interventions based on the rights of children.
The objective of this role is to support Save the Children UK to deliver high quality, innovative and impactful programmes through strengthening how wegenerate and spread economic evidence and best value for money, strengthening monitoring and evaluation of programmes through the application of economic analysis and concepts, supporting wider efforts to strengthen value for money approaches across the organisation, and bringing economic analysis more systematically into our programme design and options appraisal.
The successful candidate will support and strengthen the capacity of Save the Children staff to design, manage and deliver programmes which have economic analysis built in from the outset and which use these analyses to adapt and improve the value for money of our programmes. Furthermore the candidate will collaborate with thematic M&E advisors to bring economic approaches into programme design and implementation and contribute to how we understand the role of markets and incentives in strengthening resilience and improving outcomes. The successful candidate will also contribute to writing proposals for externally funded evaluations and participate in delivering successful bids.
