The Children's Society Director of Communications and Policy

Are you as passionate as we are about social justice and making a difference to the lives of the most disadvantaged children and young people?
For 130 years The Children’s Society has been working to transform the lives of children and young people, and today works to create a society where they are valued, respected and happy. Our particular focus is on fighting injustice and protecting children from harm and we are developing new approaches to do just that.
It is a very exciting time for the charity. We have a new Chief Executive and a new strategy and we now seek an inspirational communications expert to join the Senior Leadership Team. This role will lead the teams focused on two key strategic objectives for the charity – that of advocacy and lobbying to address systematic issues, and that of campaigning to address detrimental public attitudes and behaviours. The Communications and Policy Division is therefore critical, not only in communicating the work we are doing, but also in making change for children happen.
Candidates will have a track record of outstanding performance, will have the ability and drive to lead on strategic communications and formulating policy, and will also work with the rest of the leadership team to transform The Children’s Society for the needs of this age. If you are professionally ambitious and motivated to make a tangible difference to the lives of young children, then this role could be for you.
Closing Date
Noon on 3rd December 2012.
