WWF International, Specialist – GL and AP Accountant

We are looking for a Specialist – GL and AP Accountant (temporary) to assume designated responsibilities of the Financial Controller during the first year end closing following the implementation of new financial software at WWF International.

Location and Contract Details:

WWF International – Gland, Switzerland
Fixed-Term Contract – January 2013-September 2013

Main functions:

  • Carry out the mid-year and year-end consolidation for a portfolio of countries.
  • Liaise with Programme Office Management team on performance of the reconciliation of inter-company accounts and ensure the Interco balances reconcile.
  • Process monthly journal entries for administrative charges and out-posted staff salaries.
  • Maintain and reconcile miscellaneous balance sheet accounts. At year end, review the balances on the accounts with the Administration, IT and HR departments and prepare analyses of the balances.
  • Ensure that the key balance sheet grants clearing account is reconciled and cleared on a monthly basis.
  • Set up suppliers in Oracle for WWF International.
  • Complete the monthly accounting and analysis for Investments for the entities WWF International and PSWEF.
  • Provide back up for other accounting functions from time to time.
  • Carry out other duties, as and when required, at the request of the Financial Controller

Required qualifications and skills:

  • An university degree in finance / accounting
  • Minimum five years experience at a senior accountant level working within an international group of companies
  • At least five years experience working with an ERP system (experience with Oracle would be an advantage)
  • Exceptionally strong analytical skills with ability to set priorities, complete work with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to function in a multi-cultural environment
  • Excellent computer skills: Excel, financial software, word processing, MS-Powerpoint.
  • Knowledge of Oracle and financial reporting systems an advantage
  • Aptitude for clear and concise oral and written communication
  • Fluency in English and French
